Patching /Remove and Replacement

This method of pothole repair is labor intensive, but it provides a cleaner looking patch area. All water and debris are removed from the pothole, and the pavement around the pothole is cut to provide vertical and in-tact pavement on all sides. A binding tack coat is used on the vertical sides to hold the patching material in-place, and hot mix asphalt is used to fill the patch area. Lastly, an impact roller is used to compact the hot mix asphalt and make it level with the surrounding pavement.

The existing Asphalt to be overlaid is swept clean of all debris, and coated with a special oil mixture called a tack coat. The tack coat allows the new asphalt to adhere directly to the underlying pavement. Once the tack coat is applied, the asphalt overlay is paved directly over the old pavement.
